Goldberg Baroque Ensemble

The ensemble, founded by Andrzej Szadejko in 2008, specializes in interpretations of vocal and instrumental music from old Gdańsk and Pomerania. The ensemble’s baroque-classical concerts are based on historical performance practice on appropriate instruments. The orchestra consists of Polish and foreign musicians, graduates of renowned European early music centers (Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, Royal Academy of Music in London, Royal Conservatory in The Hague). The ensemble performs concerts in Poland and abroad. They have released 16 premiere CDs and SACDs for the Polish labels Dux and Sarton (and currently for the German label MDG) with performances of Pomeranian music, which were nominated multiple times for the Fryderyk and Opus Klassik awards. In 2022, GBE won the prestigious Opus Klassik award for J.D. Pucklitz’s Oratorio Secondo in the category of Best World Premiere.
