Bass baritone Thilo Dahlmann grew up in Hunsrück (Germany) and studied singing with Ulf Baestlein, Berthold Schmid, Guido Baehr and Wolfgang Millgramm at the Folkwang College in Essen, where he passed his final exam with distinction. His collaboration with Roland Hermann also contributed significantly to his formation as a singer. He won first prize at the North Rhine-Westphalia State Competition. He was a member of the International Opera Studio at the Zurich Opera House and performed as a guest at the Deutsches Oper am Rhine in Düsseldorf, the Wuppertal Bühnen, the Koblenz Theater and the St. Gallen Theater. He is a soloist at numerous international festivals in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Japan. Most recently, he performed at the opening concert of the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. He has released numerous DVD and CD productions in Germany, Switzerland, France and Austria. He teaches as a professor of singing at the Musikhochschule in Frankfurt and was a visiting professor at the University of Graz.
