Virgil Hartinger – tenor
The singer grew up in a musical home, where he was introduced to the classical vocal repertoire at an early age. His repertoire ranges from the Evangelist in Bach’s Passions to Verdi’s Requiem. He has worked with conductors such as Roy Goodman, Peter Neumann, Paul O’Dette, Sigiswald Kuijken, Jacek Kasprzyk, Reinhard Goebel, Michi Gaigg, Konrad Junghänel, Dorothee Oberlinger, Christophe Coin, Ton Koopman, Nicholas McGegan, Riccardo Chailly, Ivor Bolton and Thomas Hengelbrock. His operatic roles include Belmonte in La Rappe au Serail, Pylades in Gluck’s Iphigenia in Tauris, Orpheus in Orpheus by Monteverdi and Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly. He performs regularly at many prestigious festivals and concert halls such as the Salzburg Festival, the Handel Festival Göttingen, the Beethovenfest Bonn, the Konzerthaus Berlin and Vienna, the Marlboro Festival Vermont, the Folle Journée, the Flanders Festival Gent, the Philharmonie Cologne and Essen, the Tonhalle Düsseldorf, the Théâtre des Champs Élysées, Baden-Baden, the Semperoper Dresden, the Tonhalle Zürich, the Barbican Centre London, the Gewandhaus Leipzig and Carnegie Hall.
